Netflix streaming for Android possible with PlayOn Mobile app. The PlayOn Mobile for Android app gives streaming video from not only Netflix but brings a host of media from Hulu, Comedy Central and more. The PlayOn app has also been available for iOS devices (iPad, iPod Touch and iPhone) for some time now.

Android owners who are sick of waiting for Netflix support now have another option: PlayOn Mobile for Android. This mobile app delivers streaming video from Netflix, Hulu, Comedy Central and more to devices running Android 2.2+ using Flash and a Windows companion app. PlayOn works over WiFI or 3G, and it's free to download, but requires a subscription ($39.99 for year one, and then $19.99 a year) to access most of the content.

PlayOn was already available for iOS devices, and it can also stream video to your TV via Playstation 3, Wii, or Xbox 360. If you're still not sure whether that's worth the yearly fee, you can check out PlayOn's two-week trial period and decide for yourself.

Heads up Android users, PlayOn is now available in the Android Market. The application requires Android 2.2 or higher, and it’s a bit funny to see that the Droid Eris is the phone advertised for the service on the PlayOn website when you download the trial.

“We’re pleased to add Android to our ever-growing list of compatible devices for streaming online video content,” states Jeff Lawrence, CEO of MediaMall Technologies. With support for Xbox 360, PlayStation3, Wii, Google TV, Roku, iOS, and now Android, among a multitude of other DLNA-compliant devices, PlayOn offers the most affordable one-stop solution for accessing online video content on your living room TV and mobile device.”
