We are excited to announce that we have launched both an iPhone and Android app for NOLA.com.
You can download the free app from:

iTunes App Store  Android Market

If you are not an iPhone or an Android user, you can always visit the NOLA.com mobile website, which can be easily accessed by going to NOLA.com on your mobile browser.

Installing apps from your Android device
The first way to install apps is to use the Android Market on your phone, tablet, or media player. If it's a free app, it will begin downloading immediately; if the app costs money, you'll be whisked off to the Google Checkout and prompted to enter your credit card details.

Installing apps from your Windows or Mac computer
You can also install Android apps from the comfort of your PC by visiting the Android Market website. Once you've found an app you want to download to your phone, click the Install or Buy button underneath the app's icon — or you can click the icon to see more details about the app, including user reviews, screenshots of it in action, and more.

Once you've clicked Buy or Install, a box will pop up to confirm your action; if it's a free app, you can go ahead and click Install, then marvel as the app begins downloading on your phone! Go ahead and download a few more apps using the website. Once you're done, open the app drawer on your phone. Finding the right apps can be a little tricky As you've no doubt gathered, installing apps on Android is rather easy.

As on the Android Market website, sign in using your Google account details. You also need to install the AppBrain app on your phone.  al.com is Alabama's largest website, with 2.8 million unique monthly visitors.
"With local breaking news available on al.com around the clock, an app makes it even easier for people to get updates wherever they happen to be," said al.com President Cindy Martin.
