Beta testers were in play, but many more people with the app had the app without technically having official access to the app. Now there’s an update. Exciting!

 ▪ The “Hidden Word Tip Window” will now only pop up once.
▪ Prediction accuracy will no longer drop over time.
▪ New license generation during the install process.

Before I go any farther, I must preface this news by saying the new update only applies to those who have Swype installed via the Android beta program. The new update to Swype beta not only brings support for new devices, including support for the qHD display Motorola Atrix 4G but also rids the software keyboard of that annoying hidden word tip dialog you might be familiar with. The full list of updated features can be found at the below Swype source link.

Back in the early days of Swype, shoehorning this crazy speedy, tapless-typing keyboard onto your Android handset was a matter of finding a compatible APK. Eventually, Swype started cracking down; they asked anyone hosting the leaked builds to pull them down, and implemented a login system to try and ensure that everyone using the Beta was actually supposed to be doing so. (Protecting their intellectual property? Pft!)

If you’re already a part of the beta, a fancy new build awaits. If you’re not, it looks like they’ve temporarily opened the Beta registration process back up. Want to know what’s new in this latest beta build? Support for devices with QVGA, WQVGA, WSVGA and qHD resolution displays (along with the HVGA, WVGA, and FWVGA support it touted before)
