Users of the Motorola Droid X2 can rejoice! According to the Amazon site the Motorola Droid X2 is powered by a 1GHz Nvidia Tegra 2 dual-core chip. A touch screen at 4.3 inches scratch-resistant (Gorilla Glass) and anti-reflective qHD display, will easily display a full QWERTY keyboard when needed. A feature called Mirror Mode allows you to view and share your photos, videos and downloaded movies on a larger TV via HDMI output.

Support for Google Mobile Services, including Gmail, YouTube, Google Talk, Search, and Maps as well as other Android applications that are available from the Android Market will be available too. Click here to buy the Motorola DROID X2 Android Phone (Verizon Wireless) from Amazon Wireless. This smartphone is given carrier service via Verizon.

Droid-Life reports that the Android 2.3(Gingerbread) update is now available to every Droid X2 owner on Verizon. To get the update immediately, head to the Settings menu, then “About phone,” then “System updates.” Judging from the difference we’ve seen between the Gingerbread-powered Droid 3 and the Droid X2 (review), which launched with Android 2.2 (Froyo), users should be excited for the upgrade.

The device which is the successor to Droid X will have a number of its functionalities enhanced with the gingerbread update. Although the Motorola Droid X2 is a new device in the market the enhancements brought about by the gingerbread update will play a major role in ensuring that those who were becoming uneasy with the device due to lack of this essential update will continue enjoying the Motorola Droid X2.
