The Google Docs app for Android allows users to create new documents and spreadsheets, which can then be shared with their contacts available on the phone. This feature makes use of Google’s Optical Character Recognition technology. Recently, Google has released a native Android application for their Docs service. The engineers here were instrumental in creating optical character recognition (OCR) in Google Docs, which converts uploaded images to text. Google says that: "With this new app it's easy to filter and search for your content across any Google account, then jump straight into editing docs using the online mobile editors. The Docs app also allows you to upload content from your phone and open documents directly from Gmail.
